Thanks to my friend Carol Armstrong for passing along this story about her dad.
Carol took her 92-year-old father to the mall to buy new shoes. Afterward they went to the food court for lunch.
At the table closest to them sat a young boy with his hair in spikes, each spike a different color—yellow, green, purple, red, etc.
Carol’s father stared at the boy. Every time the boy looked up, Carol’s father was staring, until the boy became annoyed. “What’s the matter, old man? Didn’t you ever do anything wild?”
Carol said her father thought a minute before he drawled, “Yes. I got drunk once.”
He paused. “Had sex with a peacock. I was wondering if you might be my son.”
